Defending champion Andy Roddick reached the semifinals of the Artois Championships when Andy Murray withdrew from their quarterfinal match Friday because of a right thumb injury. The sixth-seeded Murray also hurt his groin during Thursday's match against Latvia's Ernests Gulbis, but said he was more bothered by his thumb.

Rafael Nadal's rout of Roger Federer in the French Open final drew the lowest TV rating of the duo's three consecutive title matches in Paris. NBC's telecast of Nadal's 6-1, 6-3, 6-0 victory Sunday drew an overnight rating of 1.8, the network said Monday.
