I have to admit I was cheering for Tsonga to win the Australian Open. He’s got such a big game and even bigger personality. Congratulations to him for beating Nadal in the semi-finals. That was unbelievable tennis! He is a pleasure to watch.

Djokovic, on the other hand, exhibits a bit more of an arrogant rather than confident personality. Don’t get me wrong… I think he’s a great player with precision shot-making and an all around solid game. After beating the almighty Federer, he surely deserved to win the tournament. And I think he’s bouncing the ball on his serve a lot less than in the past!

My favorite match of the tournament was the Federer vs Tipsaravic match. That was fun to watch! What was your favorite match? I have such great memories at the Australian Open from a couple of years ago. It is by far the most personal Grand Slam. The Aussies are so friendly and the atmosphere just electric and easy-going.

I do want to give a shout out to my friend Scott Davidoff who is in Melbourne and did such a fine job preparing Tipsaravic for the tournament as well as coaching Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi who reached the Mixed Doubles finals. Well done! See you back in Denver.

And while I’m on the topic of congratulating friends, I do want to mention my friend David Egdes, who was my mentor at Trinity University, for signing Martina Navratilova as primary commentator for the Tennis Channel.

So, anyone else at the Australian Open this year? How was your experience? Did anyone catch the Sting concert? Let me know!
