As day 6 at The Championships came to an end, the tennis world prepares itself for another possible Rafa and Roger showdown next Sunday. 2) Rafael Nadal disposed of German Nicolas Kiefer in straight sets in what turned into an entertaining ending with Kiefer trying to put in a late charge. Nadal will now gear up his T.V on Sunday and kick back and watch Spain vs Germany in the Euro Cup final. Nadal will have work still on his mind on Sunday as Monday will bring a tough 4th round encounter with a man that has given him all sorts of problems over the years in Mikhail Youzney. Youzney took down Radek “GQ” Stepanek in five thrilling sets on Saturday.
Other winners on day 6 were, “the other Serbian” Janko Tipsarevic over “flat as a pan cake” Dmitry Tursunov in straight sets. The surprise of The Championships thus far has to be, 32 year old Rainer Schuettler advancing to the 4th round of Wimbledon like it is no one’s business. Congrats to Schuettler, but I do believe Janko will send him packing in the sixteens.
Finally, the Frenchmen are still around, as 8) Richard Gasquet and Arnaud Clement are in the final 16 and will look to advance over 12) Andy Murray and Marin Cilic respectively. The Murray/Gasquet should provide excellent drama as Murray will have the home town and Richard is defending semi-final points which he needs dearly if he is to sustain his top 10 status. Murray had this to offer in regards to the match up:
Q. How do you see the match with Gasquet?
ANDY MURRAY: Yeah, a tough match. He hasn’t had the best year so far, but seems to be playing much better the last few weeks. You know, played well at Queen’s and lost to Nalbandian in a close match there. Obviously has played well in his first three matches. I think he had a slightly tougher match maybe than expected today.
But, yeah, he’s a very talented player. Made the semis here last year. I’m going to have to up my game if I want to win.
Richard also had his take on the up coming match by adding:
Q. If you play Andy Murray in the next round and beat him, you will be the villain of Wimbledon. Will you enjoy that title?
RICHARD GASQUET: I prefer. I prefer to be it because I have to win him. He’s a great player. He’s a great guy. But for sure I have to win Andy. If I have to play against him, I don’t care to be the villain, as you say.
Look for both Murray and as well as Marin Cilic to succeed and send the Frenchmen back packing to Paris. The second Monday at Wimbledon is arguably the best day in tennis as all 16 men will be facing off to secure quarter-final spots.

Cara Black is safe now in the traditions and serenity of Wimbledon. Back home, in Zimbabwe, it is far different and far more troubling. "It's all over the news so I think everybody is aware what's going on and players do ask me," she told The Associated Press. "But every Zimbabwean is in the same situation so it's frustrating, but you've just got to get on with things and hope things will be fine."...
