Once again, Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova needed a tiebreaker to settle the score. Playing "Dream Match 2008" before a sellout crowd at Tokyo's Ariake Stadium on Saturday, Graf defeated Navratilova 8-7 after winning a tiebreaker 10-5. "It was great that it went to a tiebreaker," Graf said. "It was a lot of fun playing Martina again.
A Boca Raton man has been sentenced to a year and one day in prison for the death of a Lithuanian tennis player. David Walsh pleaded guilty Friday to driving drunk and killing Aivaras Balzekas in 2005. Balzekas was a member of the Lithuanian national team who faced the likes of Andy Roddick and Roger Federer in junior tournaments.

Even though the tour had only 2 tournament stops this week, there was still more than enough action for fans to embrace. Its starting to become the norm this year as most tournaments are having surprise winners or finalist. Roger Federer couldn't figure out why he felt so sluggish at the start of this season. His doctors eventually gave him an explanation: The world's No. 1 tennis player had mononucleosis. "Roger found out he had mono, and didn't know it. He found out a couple of weeks ago. That's probably what was wrong with him," Federer's agent, Tony Godsick, said Friday.

I had a tough choice this time, picking which player deserved player of the month honor’s. There were many good results from lower ranked players, most notably, Nicolas Almagro (ESP) who captured both Brazil and Mexico, during the South American swing. The Spaniard, will surely be 1 of the favorites at this years French Open. Robin Soderling (SWE), also had a great month, reaching the finals or Rotterdam as well as Memphis. How about Michael Llodra (FRA) or Andy Murray (GBR), who both locked up there 2nd title’s of 2008, with Rotterdam and Marseille respectively.
