The United States was eliminated from the Davis Cup semifinals Sunday when Andy Roddick lost 17-15 to Russia’s Dmitry Tursunov in a fifth-set marathon that concluded a match lasting nearly five hours. The Americans trailed 2-1 entering the last day of the best-of-five competition and needed singles victories from Roddick and Blake to advance.

Yahoo! Sports - Tennis News Martina Hingis defeated first-time finalist Olga Poutchkova of Russia 6-0, 6-4 Sunday to win the Sunfeast Open for her second title since coming out from retirement. The top-seeded Swiss overcame an erratic serve in the second set to make short work of Poutchkova. This was the 42nd WTA Tour title for the five-time major winner.

Yahoo! Sports - Tennis News Fifteen-year-old Tamira Paszek of Austria won her first WTA Tour title Sunday, beating sixth-seeded Maria Elena Camerin of Italy 7-5, 6-1 at the Slovenia Open. Paszek, ranked 259th, played her first WTA tournament in October 2005 in Linz, Austria, where she reached the second round. She joined her country’s Fed Cup team last year.
